Basketball Recap: Wells Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mammoth last Friday, Wells came back down to earth. The Wells Leopards took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wendover Wildcats on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Wells' loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Wendover, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-4 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wells will venture away from home to challenge Pahranagat Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wells' defense has only allowed 18.4 points per game this season, so Pahranagat Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Wendover, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wendover Wildcats challenge the Panguitch Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Panguitch will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Wendover surely won't give up without a fight.
