Baseball Recap: Westfall Gets the Win

Westfall's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Adena Warriors. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Noah Stonerock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brenden Tuttle was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. AJ Pluta was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Westfall's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Adena, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westfall will host Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Adena, they will take on Piketon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Redstreaks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.26 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
