Basketball Recap: Cape Fear Academy Falls Short of Greensboro Day School in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Cape Fear Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They had to suffer through an 85-55 loss at the hands of the Greensboro Day School Bengals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hurricanes have suffered since January 30, 2024.

Despite the loss, Cape Fear Academy still got an impressive performance from Milly Kelley, who went 9-for-17 from beyond the arc en route to 43 points in addition to three steals and three blocks. Kelley's afternoon made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

Cape Fear Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Greensboro Day School, they pushed their record up to 21-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Cape Fear Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greensboro Day School, they will venture away from home to face off against Concord Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Concord Academy will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Greensboro Day School surely won't give up without a fight.
