Basketball Game Preview: Robstown Cottonpickers vs. San Diego Vaqueros

The Robstown Cottonpickers will head out on the road to square off against the San Diego Vaqueros at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

Robstown is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Sinton just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for San Diego, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They breezed by Hebbronville to the tune of 68-15 on Tuesday. That 53 point margin sets a new team best for the Vaqueros this season.

San Diego's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.3 points. As for Robstown, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.

Everything came up roses for Robstown against San Diego in their previous matchup back in December of 2020, as the team secured a 62-23 victory. Does Robstown have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Diego turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
