Softball Game Preview: Orcas Island Vikings vs. South Whidbey Falcons

The Orcas Island Vikings will take on the South Whidbey Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Orcas Island and three for South Whidbey.

Orcas Island might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 20-6 to Granite Falls, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when South Whidbey faced off against Cedar Park Christian on Tuesday. The Falcons took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

South Whidbey saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gretta Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

South Whidbey's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Orcas Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
