Basketball Recap: Melba Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Melba unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 53-44 to the Wendell Trojans on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.

Wendell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Swainston, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. Swainston is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Jarett Borges was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Melba will head out to challenge Jordan Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wendell, they will venture away from home to face off against Mountain Home at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
