Basketball Recap: Charlotte Christian Comes Up Short

Charlotte Christian lost against Forsyth Country Day back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Charlotte Christian Knights were outmatched by the Forsyth Country Day Furies and fell 60-19. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-8.

Charlotte Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Egypt Maxwell-Wright, who posted six points.

Forsyth Country Day found their leader in sophomore Lila Kelly, who had 22 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Kelly has scored at least a third of Forsyth Country Day's points. AP Bryan was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Charlotte Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Forsyth Country Day, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charlotte Christian and South Charlotte will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Forsyth Country Day, they will welcome Mount Tabor at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
