Volleyball Recap: CORE Butte Beats Chester for Their Fourth Straight Win + How To Watch

CORE Butte had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Chester Volcanoes by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lynx also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

CORE Butte had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-21.

CORE Butte was led to victory by Macey Ascherman and Mara Gonzalez. Ascherman had 26 assists and 14 digs, while Gonzalez had 24 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Gonzalez is now averaging an impressive 10.7 digs per game.

They weren't the only good servers: CORE Butte was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in four consecutive matchups.

CORE Butte's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Chester, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-9.
