Basketball Recap: Pender Skates Past Tekamah-Herman with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Pender's strategy against Tekamah-Herman on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Pender Pendragons blew the Tekamah-Herman Tigers out of the water with a 74-31 final score. The Pendragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Pender's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevor Trimble, who posted 11 points along with five assists and five steals. That's the most steals Trimble has posted since back in December of 2023. Grant Geisert also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Pender smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

Brody Rogers and Parke Loftis certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Rogers scored 13 points, while Loftis put up six points.

Pender is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for Tekamah-Herman, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Pender has already played their next contest, a 47-42 loss against Howells-Dodge on the 7th. As for Tekamah-Herman, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-56 defeat against Humphrey-Lindsay on the 7th.
