Football Recap: Memphis University School Runs Past White Station + How To Watch

Memphis University School won the last time they faced White Station and things went their way on Thursday too. The Owls came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 32-23. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Owls.

Memphis University School can attribute much of their success to Maddox Giel, who rushed for 66 yards and two TDs on only six carries. The dominant performance also gave Giel a new career-high in passing yards (83). Tommie Reed was another key player, rushing for 68 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Memphis University School was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 204 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 177 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Joshua Wittber: he added nine points with three field goals and another three kicking extra points.

Memphis University School's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for White Station, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Memphis University School will venture away from home to take on Brentwood Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Owls will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for White Station, they will be playing at home against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
