Preview: Cumberland Valley Eagles vs. Chambersburg Trojans
Cumberland Valley and Chambersburg are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Cumberland Valley Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Chambersburg Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Cumberland Valley earned a 61-51 victory over Carlisle. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cumberland Valley.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cumberland Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nolan Buzalka, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. The game was Buzalka's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Creston Austin, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chambersburg put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 60-56 win over Harrisburg. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cumberland Valley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Chambersburg, their win was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Cumberland Valley couldn't quite finish off Chambersburg when the teams last played back in January and fell 43-41. Can Cumberland Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
