Basketball Game Preview: Dobson Mustangs vs. Westwood Warriors

The Dobson Mustangs will face off against the Westwood Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dobson has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 18.

On Tuesday, Dobson ended up a good deal behind Red Mountain and lost 52-34. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Mountain Lions are ranked 40th).

Meanwhile, Westwood was beaten by Mesa 62-32 on Monday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Jackrabbits recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Westwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Dobson, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Everything came up roses for Dobson against Westwood when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 61-17 win. Does Dobson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Westwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
