Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mendon). They blew past the Schoolcraft Eagles 22-3 on Thursday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Rowan Allen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Mendon got a massive performance out of Brielle Bailey, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Bailey has posted since back in May of 2024. Gracie Schultz was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Mendon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was the tenth in a row for Mendon, bringing their record up to 14-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Schoolcraft, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
