Baseball Game Preview: Lexington Tigers vs. Jackson South Side Hawks

For the second straight game, Lexington will face off against Jackson South Side. The Tigers will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Hawks at 6:35 p.m.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lexington and Jackson South Side meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Hawks a 2-0 shutout. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Logan Hayes's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lexington is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Owen Foster was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.

Lexington's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Jackson South Side, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.
