Soccer Game Preview: Cheney vs. Central Valley

Cheney is 0-6 against Central Valley since March of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Blackhawks will head out to square off against the Bears at 6:30 p.m.

Cheney is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Gonzaga Prep on Friday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Bullpups who were credited with the victory. Gonzaga Prep got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Cheney's two.

Central Valley's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over University. Given Central Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 78th, while University are ranked 215th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cheney's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Central Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Cheney might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Central Valley in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Blackhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
