It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Prince RVT Falcons challenge the Grasso Tech Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday... Prince RVT is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season.
On Tuesday, Prince RVT came up short against Middletown and fell 61-49. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Blue Dragons recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Defeat or not, Prince RVT got some senior leadership from Cal Williams and Jordan Iverson. Williams went 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds, while Iverson almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Williams' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Black, who posted six points.
Meanwhile, Grasso Tech entered their tilt with Harvard Ellis Tech on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Eagles 87-60. Grasso Tech has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 26 points or more this season.
Prince RVT better keep an eye on Julius Washington. He was instrumental in Grasso Tech's win, going 17 of 35 on his way to 42 points and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Washington has scored at least a third of Grasso Tech's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerry Santiago, who dropped a double-double on 13 boards and ten assists.
Grasso Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 21 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Prince RVT's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Grasso Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Prince RVT has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 23.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Grasso Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 39.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
