Basketball Recap: Nikita Pozdniakov Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Fulton

East Valley won the last time they faced Fulton and things went their way on Monday too. The East Valley Falcons put the hurt on the Fulton Jaguars with a sharp 66-40 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

East Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nikita Pozdniakov, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most boards Pozdniakov has posted since back in December of 2024. Jayule Song was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

East Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why Fulton lost, don't look at Carlito De Dios. Despite the final result, he put up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Najera, who earned eight points.

East Valley's record now sits at 15-7. As for Fulton, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

East Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fulton, they will welcome Magnolia Science Academy 5 at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
