Basketball Recap: Harvard Cardinals vs. Red Cloud Warriors
Harvard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Red Cloud Warriors 68-16. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Warriors are ranked 134th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Cloud to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiva Rust, who posted 17 points. Rust's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Josie Faimon was another key player, putting up 14 points.
Harvard's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Red Cloud, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harvard and Kenesaw will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Red Cloud, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Elba at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Red Cloud knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Elba likes a good challenge.
