Baseball Recap: Ripley Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Ripley faced Sissonville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitcher stepped up to hand the Indians a 4-0 shutout. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Bryson Casto made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Curry, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Ripley's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sissonville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-10.
