Recap: Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes vs. Summerville Green Wave
The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Summerville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ashley Ridge in their matchups with Summerville: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Ashley Ridge still got an impressive performance from Jahlil Hope, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Hope is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Clayton Everett, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Ashley Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season. As for Summerville, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 21-2.
Ashley Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Summerville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stall at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stall is coming into the matchup with seven straight defeats on the road, meaning Summerville will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
