Baseball Recap: Alliance Christian Takes a Loss

If Alliance Christian was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Valley Forge Baptist Academy on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gryphons lost 22-3 to Plumstead Christian on Monday.

Jacob Heller was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brennan Corson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Alliance Christian dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Plumstead Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

Coming up, Alliance Christian will head out on the road to challenge Valley Forge Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gryphons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Plumstead Christian, they will host Renaissance Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
