Softball Recap: Windham Takes a Loss

Windham and Mathews squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Windham had to settle for second. They lost 13-2 to the Mustangs. The Bombers have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Makenna Jones made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kierrah Sanders, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Windham's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Mathews, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Windham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mathews, they will be playing at home against Badger at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are on a 21-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Braves a six-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
