Softball Game Preview: Ocean Lakes Dolphins vs. Princess Anne Cavaliers

The Ocean Lakes Dolphins will venture away from home to square off against the Princess Anne Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Princess Anne took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Ocean Lakes, who comes in off a win.

Ocean Lakes came out on top against Deep Creek on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Dolphins skirted past the Hornets 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dolphins have posted since May 22, 2024.

Meanwhile, Princess Anne came up short against Landstown on Thursday and fell 10-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

C Basurto was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. J Ramsey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Ocean Lakes has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Princess Anne, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Ocean Lakes took their victory against Princess Anne when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dolphins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
