A Season-Best Performance from Josh Takats Leads Perrysburg over Springfield

Perrysburg was led to victory by Josh Takats, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Takats rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 105 yards and a touchdown on perfect 9-for-9 passing. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August.

Unfortunately for Springfield, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Takats. Takats threw for 241 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground the last time he and the Blue Devils duked it out back in October of 2023.

Grant Kinnee Delivers Electric Performance Vs Northview

Anthony Wayne picked up their ninth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Grant Kinnee. Northview had no answer to Kinnee as he rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 72 yards and two touchdowns.

Kinnee is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Perrysburg on Friday. When Kinnee last faced the Yellow Jackets back in October of 2023, he rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 124 yards and a touchdown on only 11 passes.

Carson Pershing's Rushing Yards a New Career-High

Perrysburg was led to victory by Carson Pershing, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Pershing rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

This season, Pershing has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 48 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown.

Braden Gardner and Co. Win Ninth in a Row

Anthony Wayne picked up their ninth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Braden Gardner. Gardner wasn't messing around, rushing for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. The match was his third straight with two or more rushing touchdowns.

On the season, Gardner has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 87.5 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he had six rushing touchdowns.
