 Laney scored the most  runs they've had all season  on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the South Point Red Raiders by a score of  13-12. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
  Carston Wedemeyer was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jack Holliman, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Laney and  nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for South Point, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine games,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record  this season.
 Laney will head out on the road to  challenge  Topsail at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Topsail's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9  runs per game  this season, so Laney's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Point, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Huss at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Huss hasn't scored more than two runs for seven games straight, a trend the  squad is eager to reverse.
