Soccer Recap: Gretna Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Elkhorn

Gretna faced Elkhorn in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Dragons lost 4-1 to the Antlers. Gretna were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Elkhorn apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

Gretna has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Elkhorn, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gretna is set to challenge their familiar foe Lincoln Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Elkhorn will square off against rival Blair at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
