Volleyball Game Preview: Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings vs. Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves

The Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Villa Angela-St. Joseph will be strutting in after a victory while Cuyahoga Heights will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Villa Angela-St. Joseph turned things around against St. Vincent-St. Mary on Thursday. They came out on top against the Fighting Irish by a score of 3-1.

The win didn't come easy: St. Vincent-St. Mary scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 18-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Cuyahoga Heights came up short against Beachwood on Monday and fell 3-1.

While Cuyahoga Heights had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23.

Villa Angela-St. Joseph now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Cuyahoga Heights, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9.

Villa Angela-St. Joseph was able to grind out a solid victory over Cuyahoga Heights when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
