Baseball Recap: Harmony Area Comes Up Short

If Harmony Area was feeling good fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Glendale on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Owls came up short against the West Branch Warriors on Thursday, falling 30-13. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 two weeks ago.

Harmony Area got a massive performance out of Jaxson Keith, who went 3-for-5 with four runs and one RBI. Keith is becoming a predictor of the Owls' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-8 when he doesn't). Parker Maseto was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Harmony Area's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for West Branch, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Harmony Area will be playing in front of their home fans against Purchase Line at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Dragons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for West Branch, they will challenge Lakeview at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Sailors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.73 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
