Basketball Recap: Chickasaw Comes Up Short

Chickasaw lost against Bryant back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Chickasaw Chieftains were beaten by the Bryant Hurricanes 64-32. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 116th).

It was another big night for Mari-Margret Grayson, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards for Bryant. That's the most rebounds Grayson has posted since back in November of 2023. Madi-Marie Grayson was another key player, going 6 of 10 en route to 18 points.

Chickasaw's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Bryant, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Chickasaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bryant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-55 loss against Saraland on the 31st.
