Football Recap: Wesleyan's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Wesleyan easily dispatched Business Engineering Science Tech two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wolves fell just short of the Ambassador Christian School Lions by a score of 24-21 on Friday. The Wolves gained 138 more yards on the day, but it was the Lions that made the best use of them.

Jameson Hilton and Maddox Gartland certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hilton threw for 110 yards and one TD on only six passes, while Gartland rushed for 118 yards and one score.

Wesleyan's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Ambassador Christian School, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wesleyan will take on Mount Pisgah Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.4 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Ambassador Christian School, they will head out on the road to take on Grace Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
