Volleyball Recap: Waltham Takes a Loss

Waltham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Braintree Wamps. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wamps this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Waltham was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Braintree's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20, 25-22.

Braintree can attribute much of their success to Lauren Caranog, who had 12 digs and two aces. What's more, Caranog posted two kills, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

Waltham's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Braintree, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Waltham will head out to take on Bedford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Braintree, they will venture away from home to challenge Weymouth at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
