Soccer Game Preview: Hampshire vs. Huntley

Hampshire hasn't had much luck against Huntley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Whip-Purs will square off against the Red Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Hampshire put up the most goals they have all season on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Crystal Lake South a 4-0 shutout. The contest was close at halftime, but Hampshire turned on the heat in the second half with three goals.

Meanwhile, Huntley strolled into their game on Thursday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Prairie Ridge. Huntley's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matches.

They hit Prairie Ridge with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brooke Grabs (2), Maddie Cummings (2), Maizie Nickle, and Sofia Bruns.

Huntley's victory bumped their record up to 10-0-3. As for Hampshire, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 2-6-1.

Hampshire suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to Huntley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Whip-Purs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
