Recap: Morgan Academy Senators vs. Glenwood Gators
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Morgan Academy Senators, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were the victim of a tough 87-62 defeat at the hands of the Gators on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (61), Morgan Academy still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Morgan Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is CJ Christopher Williams. Despite the final result, he scored 38 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 61.3% of Morgan Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Milton Hand, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Morgan Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Glenwood, their win bumped their record up to 22-10.
Morgan Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Glenwood, they will take on Bessemer Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Bessemer Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 620 points over their last nine matches.
