Baseball Recap: Catholic Central Takes a Loss

The Catholic Central Irish lost 22-1 to the Dixie Greyhounds on Thursday.

Catholic Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Strother, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Strother is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Leland Stewart also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Catholic Central's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Dixie, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Coming up, Catholic Central will host Yellow Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Irish's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Dixie, they are taking a road trip to face off against Houston at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
