Volleyball Game Preview: Christian Patriots vs. Point Loma Pointers

The Christian Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Point Loma Pointers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Point Loma took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Christian, who comes in off a win.

Christian had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Hoover on Tuesday. The Patriots blew past the Cardinals 3-0.

Christian walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Point Loma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Crawford.

While Point Loma had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19, 25-23.

Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season. As for Point Loma, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-24.

Christian took their win against Point Loma in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
