Basketball Recap: L'Anse Takes a Loss

L'Anse lost against Houghton back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The L'Anse Purple Hornets were dealt a 74-46 defeat at the hands of the Houghton Gremlins. The game marked the Purple Hornets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

L'Anse's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Houghton, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

The future could be bright for both L'Anse and Houghton: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. L'Anse will try to hand Hancock their sixth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Meanwhile, Houghton will look to extend West Iron County's six-game losing streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
