Recap: Holt Ironmen vs. Montevallo Bulldogs
The Holt Ironmen 's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Montevallo on the road and fell 42-12. Holt has struggled against Montevallo recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Rozario Conwell got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 174 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Braxton King, who rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Holt's defeat was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 3.4 points per game. As for Montevallo, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Holt will head out on the road to face off against Bibb County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bibb County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Holt in Alabama (Bibb County is ranked 75th, while Holt is ranked 363rd). As for Montevallo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against American Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. American Christian Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
