Softball Recap: Castilleja Gets the Win

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Castilleja nor Gunn made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Gators walked away with a 7-4 win over the Titans. For the Gators, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.

The team relied heavily on Magnolia Kushner, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Cali Scolnick, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Castilleja kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.

Castilleja's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Gunn, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Castilleja wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-3 defeat against Mercy on the 12th. As for Gunn, they have also already played their next matchup, a 24-5 victory against Lynbrook on the 17th.
