Baseball Game Preview: Winters Mill Falcons vs. South Carroll Cavaliers

The Winters Mill Falcons will head out to take on the South Carroll Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Winters Mill fell victim to Liberty and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, South Carroll hadn't done well against Marriotts Ridge recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Cavaliers put the hurt on Marriotts Ridge with a sharp 7-1 victory.

Caleb Evans was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Nate Houston also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

The loss snapped Winters Mill's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-3 record. As for South Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Winters Mill was able to grind out a solid victory over South Carroll when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 9-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
