Basketball Recap: Mira Monte Takes a Loss

Mira Monte was the 55-54 winner over South when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Mira Monte Lions lost 65-40 to the South Spartans on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1004th, while the Spartans are ranked 378th).

Mira Monte now has a losing record at 8-9. As for South, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mira Monte has already played their next matchup (against Del Oro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South and North will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
