The Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles will challenge the North Stanly Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Uwharrie Charter Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Uwharrie Charter Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Wheatmore by a score of 6-3. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won seven in a row.

Katelyn West spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Ryley Thompson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Smith, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Uwharrie Charter Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wheatmore struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, while North Stanly put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Albemarle. North Stanly put the hurt on Albemarle with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Uwharrie Charter Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Stanly, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-4.

Uwharrie Charter Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against North Stanly in their previous matchup on March 7th, sneaking past 2-1. Will Uwharrie Charter Academy repeat their success, or does North Stanly has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
