Football Recap: Concordia Piles Up the Points Against Orrick

There's no place like home for Concordia, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Orrick Bearcats 47-8 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Orioles, who have now won three matchups by 39 points or more so far this season.

Nephi Hon produced another solid performance rushing for 41 yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Concordia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Concordia's defense and their nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Dane Wilckens and Aksel Garcia, who racked up five sacks between them. Garcia has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last six times he's played. Concordia received some extra help from Maddix Inman, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Concordia now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Orrick, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Concordia wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 74-0 win against Santa Fe on the 3rd. As for Orrick, they have also already played their next game, a 65-18 loss against Wellington-Napoleon on the 3rd.
