Softball Recap: Mica Mountain's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mica Mountain extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 18-11 in the process. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Arcadia Titans. That's more bragging rights for the Thunderbolts, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Acelynn-Rose Heston made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Heston was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Caeli Shellenbarger was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Bibiana Tanori, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

As for Arcadia, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Arcadia's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucy Dreier, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mica Mountain will host Rio Rico at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arcadia, they will welcome Paradise Honors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
