Cony is 7-1 against Oceanside since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mariners at 4:15 p.m. The timing is sure in Cony's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Oceanside has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Cony's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Waterville 8-0. Considering the Rams have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Oceanside hadn't done well against Lawrence recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mariners came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 3-1.

Jake Watkinson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Oceanside is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5 otherwise. Watkinson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Watkinson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Blade Brann, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Cony's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Oceanside, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Everything went Cony's way against Oceanside when the teams last played back in April, as Cony made off with a 13-4 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Mariners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
