Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 78-62 to the Le Mars Bulldogs. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson lost, don't look at Demari Robinson. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 13 en route to 21 points. Jimmy Cotton was another key player, going 10 for 14 on his way to 15 points.

Even though they lost, Jefferson was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Le Mars, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-54 defeat against Sioux City North on the 21st. Le Mars has also already played their next matchup (against Sergeant Bluff-Luton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
