Baseball Game Preview: North Lincoln Knights vs. J.H. Rose Rampants

For the second straight game, North Lincoln will face off against J.H. Rose. The Knights will take on the Rampants at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (North Lincoln 3.3, J.H. Rose 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

North Lincoln heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Friday. They fell just short of J.H. Rose by a score of 5-4. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

For J.H. Rose's part, Josh Roberson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. Roberson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Roberson wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Owen Simmons, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

J.H. Rose's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-9.
