Baseball Recap: Butler County Beats Gallatin County for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Butler County came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Gallatin County Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Butler County pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Gallatin County, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Butler County will take on Taylor County on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3.4, the Cardinals 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Gallatin County, they will face off against Western Hills at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
