Baseball Recap: Cheney Takes a Loss

Cheney lost against Mt. Spokane back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blackhawks fell 7-2 to the Wildcats. The Blackhawks just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Cheney saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Belarde, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Cheney's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Mt. Spokane, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Mt. Spokane will square off against Walla Walla at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Cheney will be paying especially close attention to Mt. Spokane's contest: after Mt. Spokane faces off against Walla Walla, they'll take on Cheney again at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
