Baseball Recap: Sumter Victorious

Sumter got themselves on the board against Lancaster on Monday, but Lancaster never followed suit. They came out on top against the Bruins by a score of 3-0. That's two games straight that the Gamecocks have won by exactly three runs.

Sumter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lancaster, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Sumter is set to face off against their familiar foe Ridge View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lancaster will challenge rival York at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
