Softball Recap: Hempstead Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Hempstead had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 9-6 to the Xavier Saints on Thursday. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Saints from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Xavier pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Saints beat Hempstead by a score of 17-0 later that day.
